Why does the camera ask to set a password after upgrading?
 

ANSWER

In order to enhance security, VIVOTEK have implemented many security protocols and functions into the camera. One of them is the requirement of username and password settings to avoid unwanted intrusion from non-authorized users to the camera.

These changes have been applied in the following cameras firmware version:
VIVOTEK 9000 Series 0103e or above
***VIVOTEK 8000 Series 0103f / 0203d or above
***The 8000 series include only the following models (models not defined in this list don't have this restriction):

Note: this feature cannot be changed, once you have made the firmware update it cannot be restored back to its previous state. If you have a special requirement in where you have to remove the password, please contact Technical Support.
