[Announcement] Important Update to AlfredCamera's 2026 Plan and Pricing

Dear AlfredCamera Community,

At AlfredCamera, we are constantly evolving to provide the most reliable home security experience. To support our 2026 technology roadmap—including enhanced AI detection and system stability—we are updating our service plans and pricing starting March 16, 2026.

Importantly, we have designed a Legacy Protection mechanism to ensure our existing users keep their benefits for as long as possible. This means that if you are already an Alfred Premium subscriber, your current pricing and unlimited camera perks will not be changed immediately. We are committed to a gradual, phased transition that prioritizes the stability of your current home security setup.  

 

What's Changing?

Starting in 2026, AlfredCamera will implement the following changes to our global service structure:

  • Price Adjustment (March 16, 2026): 
    • United States: Effective from March 16, 2026. The annual price for new Premium Standard subscriptions will increase by approximately 20% (from $29.99/yr to $35.99/yr).
    • Other Regions: Local pricing updates will be displayed within the app starting from April 7, 2026.
  • Online Camera Limits (Phased rollout): To ensure optimal performance as we introduce more advanced features, new pairing limits will be introduced across tiers:
    • Free Tier: Up to 2 online cameras.
    • Premium Standard: Up to 4 online cameras.
    • Premium Plus: Unlimited online cameras.
  • Effective Dates:
    • United States: March 16, 2026
    • Other Regions: April 7, 2026

Why This Change?

For nearly half a decade, AlfredCamera has maintained the same annual pricing despite significant global inflation and rising operational costs. Our mission has always been to make home security accessible, and we have proudly absorbed these increasing expenses to keep our services affordable for you.

However, as we move into 2026, the technological requirements for secure, encrypted FHD video streaming and the next generation of AI-driven detection have grown substantially. To sustain our commitment to your safety and continue investing in faster server response times and better video quality, a price adjustment is now necessary. This update allows us to build a more robust infrastructure for the future while still honoring our earliest supporters through the Legacy Protection Program.

 

The Legacy Protection Program

Existing Paid Subscribers

If you are already a subscriber or have upgraded before your region's effective date (US: March 16 / Others regions: April 7), and keep your subscription active:

  • Permanent Price Lock: Your renewal price is guaranteed at your current rate. This rate will not change as long as you do not cancel.
  • Extended Perk Access: While new camera limits will be introduced via a phased rollout later in 2026, Legacy users will be prioritized with the longest available buffer periods to ensure your home remains protected.

Free Users (Time-Limited Opportunity)

  • Upgrade before your region's effective date: This is your final opportunity to lock in your current price forever and secure your "Legacy Status" before the 2026 rules and camera limits take effect.

Your Options

  • Upgrade: The most seamless way to stay protected is to upgrade to a higher tier for more online cameras.
  • Manual Management: If you choose not to upgrade, you can manually rotate your cameras. Simply "Disable" one camera to free up a slot, then "Enable" another within your plan's limit.

When will the new camera limits start?

We will begin a gradual, phased rollout of the new plan structures later in 2026. This approach allows us to ensure a seamless transition for every user. You will receive a personalized notification in the app well before any changes affect your specific account.

 

If I have more cameras than my plan allows, what should I do?

The most seamless way to maintain your security setup is to upgrade to a higher tier, which offers a higher number of active cameras and a completely hands-free experience.

If you choose not to upgrade, you can still manage multiple cameras by manually switching the status of each camera. You can go to the settings of any active camera and select "Disable" to release its slot. Once a slot is free, you can "Enable" another camera within your plan's limit. This allows you to rotate between your devices and maintain your preferred security setup without an immediate upgrade.

 

If I have more cameras than the new limit allows, will they be deleted?

No, your cameras will not be deleted. If the number of active cameras exceeds your limit when the rollout reaches your account, the system will automatically manage your online slots. We will prioritize keeping cameras with recent activity online, while cameras that haven't been updated for a longer period will be temporarily disabled to fit your plan’s quota. You can swap active cameras at any time or upgrade to a higher tier for simultaneous, uninterrupted access to all devices.
 

How do I keep my "Legacy Status"?

Simply maintain an active subscription. If your subscription is cancelled or expires due to a payment failure, your Legacy status will be lost, and any resubscription will follow the 2026 pricing and plan rules.
