Keeping your device secure has always been a priority at AlfredCamera. App Lock now supports Biometric Authentication, allowing you to unlock AlfredCamera using your device's built-in biometric method — no PIN Code required. It's the same security you trust, with a faster and more seamless way to get in.
Biometric Authentication is a new addition to App Lock that lets you unlock AlfredCamera using your device's built-in biometric method instead of manually entering a PIN Code. The supported authentication methods vary depending on your device hardware and operating system version, and may include face recognition, fingerprint scanning, and more.
⚠️ Note: This feature requires AlfredCamera version 2026.9.0 or above, and iOS 13 / Android 11 or above.

How do I enable Biometric Authentication?
Before getting started, please make sure the following two conditions are met:
App Lock is turned on — Biometric Authentication is an add-on to App Lock. You'll need to enable App Lock first before the Biometric Authentication option becomes available.
Biometrics are set up on your device — Make sure your phone has face recognition or fingerprint scanning configured in your device's system settings.
To enable Biometric Authentication:
Update AlfredCamera to version 2026.9.0 or above
Open AlfredCamera and switch to the Viewer side
Tap the More tab
Locate the App Lock section and confirm that App Lock is turned on
Tap the Biometric Authentication toggle
Follow the on-screen prompts to complete biometric verification — and you're all set!
⚠️ Note: Biometric Authentication is only available on the Viewer side. This feature is not supported on the Camera side.
How do I use Biometric Authentication to unlock the app?
Once enabled, the app will automatically prompt biometric verification whenever it enters a locked state — for example, after running in the background for more than 30 seconds or on a cold start.
Verification successful — You'll be taken directly to the app.
Verification failed or canceled — The app will automatically fall back to the PIN Code entry screen, so you can still unlock using your PIN Code.
Please note:
Biometric Authentication is a device-level setting. It is not synced across devices linked to the same account — each device needs to be configured separately.
The following actions will reset your Biometric Authentication setting, and you'll need to re-enable it manually:
Why can't I see the Biometric Authentication option?
This could be due to one of the following reasons:
AlfredCamera has not been updated to version 2026.9.0 or above — please update the app and try again
App Lock is not turned on — please enable App Lock from the More tab first
Will my Biometric Authentication setting sync across devices?
No. Biometric Authentication is a device-level setting and will not sync to other devices linked to the same account. Each device needs to be set up independently.
Will my Biometric Authentication setting carry over to a new phone?
No. Since Biometric Authentication is tied to your device, switching to a new phone means you'll need to log in and manually re-enable the setting.
