Q: Why won’t IP Portal run on my MAC/IOS system?

A: IP Portal will not work on Mac operating systems.

 

Q: Why won’t IP Portal run?

A: Ensure that you installed WinPcap during the IP Portal installation. Furthermore, run IP Portal as an administrator.

 

Q: Why won’t IP Portal let me extract any XML files?

A: Highlighting a camera does not select it, you must check the box next to the camera.

 

Q: I selected the cameras correctly, I still can’t extract anything or change their settings.

A: You may only work with one device at a time, this means you can only have one device selected.

 

Q: IP Portal is not detecting any devices in my network.

A: Your devices are either using the built in POE ports of the recorder or they may be on a separate network than you are on.

 

Q:  My devices are using the built-in POE ports of the recorder; how can I see them on IP Portal?

A: Using a laptop, connect an Ethernet cable to one of the built-in POE ports to see the connected devices

 

Q: Why won’t IP Portal accept my new password when I am trying to reset the device’s password?

A: The new password must be at least 8 characters long and feature more than two different types of characters such as capitals and numbers.

 

Q: I set up my camera’s password and network settings.  Why can’t I see the camera in my recorder?

A: First, ensure that you have added the camera to your recorder. Secondly, camera settings such as the IP address and password must be correct under camera management in the recorder’s settings.

 

Q: I am getting a failure when trying to export the XML file

A: Run IP Portal as an administrator or try IP Portal on another computer on the same network.
