Quick Guide for the Pyrus Transmitter
The following article aims to simplify the configuration of the transmitter. It is recommended to read the corresponding manuals before installation.
The Pyrus series transmitters are used to communicate events-incidents to a CRA in two different ways; one through the alarm inputs and the second, through the RS485 port if there is integration with the control panel to which it is intended to connect.
To configure the Pyrus transmitters, it is necessary to have the company registered in Nuvasafe, have a user account, have created a group associated with a registered CRA, and have correctly connected and configured the transmitter.
Download applications and manuals:
- Pyrus Manual
- Nuvasafe cloud Manual.
-
Company Registration
- The company account is only used the first time for registration and later to add user accounts.
- Access to Nuvasafe cloud
-
NuvaLink v.2.30. Device configuration via USB and cloud.
- Necessary drivers, after installing Nuvalink, these are located in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\NuvaLink\drivers\dpinst_amd64.
PROCESS SUMMARY
Company registration in the cloud
-
- Access the cloud / user registration
- Create user/installer
- Create group/CRA
Initial connection and configuration
-
- Power supply
- Between 12 and 24 Vdc.
- Two different power supplies will be needed to comply with regulations. GND and Vi+ main power supply and B+ backup power supply.
- If using a single power source, bridge Vi+ and B+ to avoid reporting a secondary power failure. The GNDs are common on the board.
- Communications
- The ethernet port and GPRS are enabled by default. Disable one if using the other to avoid communication failures.
- It is recommended to enable the Lora Wan network with the Helium Europe network
- Alarm inputs
- Inputs 1i and 2i along with GND are configured as NO and alarm.
- Input 3i is NO and reports as a fault.
- Power supply
Troubleshooting
-
- Group or CRA registration and selection
- Subscriber number
- Communication tests and input testing
Description of the web interface
From this side menu, you can access the submenus that allow:
Register Devices, to add Pyrus transmitters to the cloud.
From Entities you can access to register for the first time the Companies you represent.
Within Companies, you need to create Groups that represent the CRAs to which the transmitters will connect.
In users, the different technicians of the company are registered. They are the ones who can add transmitters/Devices.
Company registration in the cloud
- Access the cloud
- Cloud registration. (A verification email will be sent that must be read)
Go to NuvaSafe | Login and log in
- Company registration
Create a Company to later organize users and groups. It will not be necessary to access this section again. Enter the basic data; it is not required to specify all.
- Create user (installer)
Enter the user's basic information.
- Group, indicate the name of the created company.
- Level, create at least one user with the level “Admin User”.
- Web roles, add; Device control, User add/edit/delete, Device add/edit/delete, Device config, Device IP config, and Advanced. Without this last permission, you will not be able to modify the APN or other communication options; contact Visiotech SAT or send an email to sat@visiotechsecurity.com indicating company name and user email.
- Create group/CRA
Groups are necessary to associate them with the CRA to which events will be sent. They are also used if it is necessary that other users or end clients can only see their own transmitters.
It is recommended to indicate the name of the CRA or end client in the group name.
If the CRA is not available, send an email to SAT with a contact to reach them.
Remember to indicate Backup DIRECT in transmitter edit mode.
- Pyrus Devices
Here you can add, view, edit, and configure the device data (Pyrus transmitter).
- Add and configure devices
- Enter the serial number and client identification name.
- Subscriber and confirm subscriber in “Forced subscriber”. The code ”FFFF” will not transmit.
- Choose whether to use the Lorawan network; if yes, select Helium Europe.
- Type, it does not matter; it does not change characteristics.
- Organization, your company name should appear; if not, select it.
- Group, choose the CRA group that was created.
- CS Direc, select backup
- Configure communication paths.
- Once the transmitter is added, go to the Device, select “Configure”
- Within the Communications menu (1), open the Cellular menu and configure the APN (2).
- In the Options menu (1), enable or disable the path that will not be used (2). This is done with the left mouse button.
Initial connection and configuration
- Power supply
The transmitter requires between 12 and 30Vdc. Although for initial configuration via USB, it could also work with the 5Vdc provided by the USB port.
Power the Vi+ and GND terminals; connection to B+ and GND of a battery or auxiliary power supply will be necessary to comply with regulations. If this is not available, it will be necessary to bridge Vi+ and B+ to avoid backup power failure events to the CRA.
- Communications
It is initially recommended to connect the ethernet port to a network without restrictions to guarantee connection to the manufacturer's cloud.
If later at the installation site only the GPRS network will be used, it will be necessary to configure the APN; for this, it is always easier to do it via cloud over ethernet. Remember to disable the ethernet path on the transmitter after finishing. How to make these changes is explained later.
- Alarm inputs
Connect to inputs i1, i2, i3, and i4 and GND the outputs to be used. These are configurable as NO, NC, and RFL.
Troubleshooting
-
- Does not connect to GPRS network.
- Check that the APN is correct. Advanced permissions are required to access this menu. Request them from Visiotech SAT by email sat@visiotechsecurity.com or at 911 883 615 option 5
- Does not connect to GPRS network.
-
- Where to find the CRA
- In Group or CRA registration and selection
- Where to find the CRA
-
- Where the subscriber is indicated
- Within device editing. Subscriber and repeat the subscriber in “Forced subscriber”
- Where the subscriber is indicated
-
Communication tests and input testing.
- Perform the necessary tests required by the CRA.
