1. For End-Users
If you are an end-user, it is highly recommended to contact your system integrator for assistance. Before reaching out, ensure you have reviewed the following items and are ready to provide the correct information to your system integrator:
(a) To Enable VORTEX Connect Service on VSS:
Perform these steps on the VSS server.

Check Version: Ensure VSS is version v1.5.2xxx or later (supports Lite, Std, and Pro editions).

Enable Connection: Open the VSS software "Setting" and enable "VORTEX Connect".

Get Device ID: In the VORTEX Connect tab, copy the 12-digit "Device ID" displayed.

Add Device (VORTEX end-user Portal):
- Log in VORTEX end-user portal
- Navigate to the "Devices" tab and click "Add Device".
- Select manual entry and paste the Device ID from Step 3.

Completion: The system will pair automatically. No VPN or port forwarding configuration is required.
(b) To Add the VSS to an existing VORTEX organization:
- Log in to the existing VORTEX organization.
- (If your VORTEX organization is not yet bound with a system integrator) Add the system integrator's email via "Reseller Management" tab

Contact your system integrator and provide the following information to add the VSS to your existing organization.
2. For System Integrators (SI)
If you are a system integrator (SI), please follow these steps:
- Review Customer Requirements:
- Refer to the "For End-Users" section above to understand the customer's specific requirements.
- You must aquire a VORTEX Reseller Portal Account

Apply for a Dual-Purpose Account (Used for both VORTEX Reseller Portal and VIVOTEK VPP Portal):

Urgent Workaround:
- If installation cannot wait, follow this guide to create a VORTEX End-user portal directly. You can link your Reseller portal account later via "System" -> "Reseller management".
- Ensure End-User's VSS is connected to VORTEX Cloud
- Follow VORTEX Handbook 1 Instructions to assist the customer in either:

Adding the VSS to an existing organization using the "Remote Access" feature in the reseller portal.
- Or, creating a new organization for the customer and adding the VSS to it

Add Device (In VORTEX end-user Portal):
- Go back to the VORTEX Portal (accessed via Remote Access in reseller portal).
- Navigate to the "Devices" tab and click "Add Device".
- Select manual entry and paste the Device ID from Step 3.

Completion: The system will pair automatically. No VPN or port forwarding configuration is required.
Key Notes:
- Ensure the customer's provided email address is valid and not associated with any existing VORTEX organization.
