Question
The NR device does not boot up immediately after power loss due to "Cache discarded due to unexpected power loss" error
Answer
"Caching" is a process used to improve the performance of systems and involves storing frequently accessed data in a "cache" so that it can be accessed more quickly in the future.
However, if there is an unexpected power loss, the cache may be discarded or lost because the data in the cache is not written to a permanent storage. As a security measure, if the NR device suddenly reboots it will show a message informing the user until acknowledge (pressing a key after booting).

Fortunately, this verification can be disabled if needed by accessing the RAID card BIOS setting. To do so, please follow the next steps:
Note: You will need to connect the NR to a local monitor to perform this setting.
Step 1. Reboot or power up then NR and when the RAID card information is shown on the screen, press Ctrl + R. This will open the RAID configuration interface:

Step 2. Press Ctrl + N to switch page to Ctrl Mgmt .Then press TAB to switch the option to “Stop On Er”.

Step 3. Press Enter, and then use arrow keys to choose “Ignore errors”.

Step 4. After choosing "Ignore errors", press Ctrl + S to save
Step 5. Press ESC to leave, the system will ask you to press Ctrl + Alt + Del to reboot. Now it should skip errors during boot up.
Other workarounds:
You can also rebuild the NR RAID and configure it using "Write through" instead of "Always write back" so that the RAID card does not have this issue. However, is not recommended because it could affect the system performance.
Always Write Back configuration:

Write Through configuration:

Since this involves rebuilding the RAID, you will lost all current data so be sure to backup all your recording data beforehand.
