In this article, we are going to explain how to add a Safire PoE camera on an X-Security NVR

The first two steps are

  • You must know the IP range of the NVR.
  • To enable and change the IP address of the Safire camera, you need a computer and the SADP tool.

NVR internal IP range

First, write down the internal IP address range of the NVR.

This can be done through the web interface or a monitor connected to the NVR.

To activate the camera

1. Open the SADP tool on the PC to activate the camera

2. After activation change the IP address and we have to use one of the ranges 10.1.1.xxx

Confirm with the password that was used to activate the camera.

Setting NVR IP via the web interface

1. Open the web browser and enter the IP address of the NVR with the port used. (usually port 80)

2. Via SETTINGS open Network

3. Then click on Change

4. When the IP range of the local area network (LAN) is the same range, you must change the IP range

Adding the camera to the NVR via the Web interface

In this example, we will use the camera IP address 10.1.1.11

To integrate the camera we will use in this case the RTSP, since it will always be possible to integrate the camera, unlike Onvif that due to the difference in versions sometimes it will be possible and sometimes not

This is the URL of the RTSP stream:

Main Stream: rtsp://10.1.1.11/Streaming/Channels/101
Sub Stream: rtsp://10.1.1.11/Streaming/Channels/102

1. Enter the IP address of the recorder

2. Via settings, select CAMERA

3. In the list of cameras

4. Click on Add manually. A new popup window will be displayed

5. Enter the primary stream (for this example we use: rtsp://10.1.1.11/Streaming/Channels/101)

6. 6. Enter the secondary stream (for this example we use: rtsp://10.1.1.11/Streaming/Channels/102)

7. User name

8. Password

9. Click OK

When this is done and the camera is connected to the PoE from the NVR you should be able to see the camera

Configuring IP NVR via a monitor on the NVR

1. Right-click on the main screen and select Main Menu

2. Then select Network

3. Next, select Switch When needed to change the IP range and click Apply

By default this is the IP address that the NVR usually has for cameras connected by POE:

IP Address 10.1.1.2 ~ 10.1.1.254

Subnet 255.255.255.0

Gateway 10.1.1.1.1

Adding the camera to the NVR via the NVR monitor

1. Right-click on the main screen and select Main Menu

mceclip2.png

2. Select the camera

mceclip7.png

3. Make sure it is in the camera list

4. Then click on Add manually

mceclip8.png

5. Enter the mainstream (for this example we use: rtsp://10.1.1.11/Streaming/Channels/101)

6. Enter the secondary stream (for this example we use: rtsp://10.1.1.1.11/Streaming/Channels/102)

7. User name

8. Password

9. Click OK

When this is done and the camera is connected to the PoE from the NVR you should be able to view the camera.
