Ajax NVR | Motion detection with ONVIF cameras

With AJAX NVR's you can add third party Cameras using the ONVIF protocol. For motion detection you can either have basic motion detection activated by the NVR (based on pixel change) or you can use the motion detection setting from the camera, this enables you to use the more advanced motion detection like Ultra Motion Detection if supported by the camera only trigger when for example detecting a person or vehicle.

Smart events like for example line crussing is not supported.

Enable ONVIF on the camera 

Make sure ONVIF is enabled in the camera. Some cameras require to enable ONVIF or even create an ONVIF user and password.

For example in the UniView camera you can simply enable it and use the admin user/password to connect with ONVIF

Add the camera to the Ajax NVR using the Ajax app or Ajax desktop app:

You can add manually if you know the IP address or select the camera in the list if it was detected already.

Go to the camera list of your AJAX NVR and click "+ Add camera"

Select the camera from the list if detected:

Or add manually, choose ONVIF and enter details:

Configure the motion detection

Now we can configure the motion detection, go the camera configuration:

First go to Notifications, enable it and configure when you want to receive them (eg only when armed, or always)

Next enable and configre the motion detection : 

If you choose "By pixel position change", you can set and configure the motion detection from the NVR in the "Motion detection settings".

If you choose "By camera algorithm", you can configure the motion detection on the camera itself and if the camera supports it you can make it Ultra Motion Detection to have only triggers on eg persons or vehicles.
