Symptom

• After a certain period, the unit does not boot up properly
• Unit is stuck on Speco logo bootup screen
• Only occurs on D16VN and D16WVN units

Resolution

Firmware upgrade via USB at the unit.

Firmware upgrade procedure.

1. Load firmware file onto USB drive.

a.     USB must be formatted as FAT32.

b.     Copy the firmware file into the “/upgrade” folder.

e.g. D:\upgrade\main_d16vn_speco_8.3.8_20240103.bin

c.      Make sure there are no other executable files in the USB drive. 

2.     Power off the unit. 

3.     Plug the USB drive into the USB port at the front of the unit.  

4.     Turn ON the power with USB plugged in. Upgrade will begin automatically. 

5.     Once fully booted, confirm the new firmware version under “System -> Description” menu. Software Version: Ver 8.3.8_20240103
