This guide helps you access your DVR/NVR using HomeSafe View on Windows or Mac.
Before you begin:
- Ensure your DVR/NVR is already installed and on your network.
- Confirm your DVR’s username and password are set.
- Download and install HomeSafe View:

1. How to Add the Recorder
Install and open HomeSafe View - It will open its (Setup) Wizard, click Next.

Enter the following details:
- Device Factory: Private
- Device Name: Assign a name for easy identification.
- IP/ID: Enter the 20-character alphanumeric code found on your recorder
- Media Port: Default is 9000
- User Name: Default is admin
- Password: Enter your recorder's admin password
Click Add
Import your recorder - Once successfully added, click Import All then click Next

NOTE: When you open HomeSafe View again, it will ask for a password. Default is blank, then click Login.
If that didn’t work, make sure that it is getting internet connection since we are adding it using its UID.
2. How to Load the Cameras
Click and drag DefaultGroup to any boxes to the right, then release.

If that didn’t work...
Can't download the file using Microsoft Edge browser
We have received reports one some users that they have having issues downloading the file, and we found out that they are using Microsoft Edge.
To help you resolve this, go to this article and follow the steps carefully. Once downloaded, install the program, then proceed here.
Incorrect UID/Port?
Double-check your recorder’s UID or Media port by going to Menu → Network → Network.
Access denied?
Confirm proper login credentials and that remote access is enabled on your DVR’s settings.
