IDIS Center | How to Import Devices from a Device Information File

Environment:

• IDIS Center client

NOTE: The Device Information File will be in the format (*.dat).

Purpose:

• To restore only devices on a new IDIS Center install.
• To add additional devices to the existing IDIS Center Client. 

Procedure:

1. Click on System>IDIS Center Setup>Device or (Ctrl+Shift+D)
   
2. Click the Plus (+) symbol
   
3. Scan Mode field "Select Device Information File."
   
4. Click Browse to search the .dat file.
   
5. Select the .dat file, then click "Open."
   
6. Confirm the file is displayed in the browse field.
   
7. Click "Start Scan", then click "OK" to the message "The window automatically closes after the device is registered."
   
8. Enter the "Password", then press the "OK" button.
   Note: The password entered is from when the .dat file was created.
   
9. Select devices and click the "Add" button.
   
10. Click the "Close" button once the status displays "Temporarily Registered."
    
11. Once devices are seen in the device list, click the "OK" button to exit to the menu.
    

12. The device will appear in the IDIS Center Site list.

    

13. Done.
