ISS | How to transfer from an existing (physical or virtual) system to a new system.

Issue: How to transfer from an existing (physical or virtual) system to a new system. 

Notes:

• System will be offline during this procedure.
• When migrating a virtual machine or transferring to a new physical machine, the license on the original system must first be deactivated. Send the serial number (See Step 4 below) to technical support, who will escalate internally to have it deactivated.
• Have a flash drive to copy files between the two systems.

Resolution:

1. Update the client PC's to the latest version of ISS Client.
2. Verify you have the admin account password.
3. From the existing system, click Start > IDIS Solution Suite > License Tool.
   
   
4. The Licensing Tool will appear. Currently we cannot maximize this window. Screenshot the information then scroll down to the end and screenshot it again. The serial number is the important part.
   
    
5. Click IDIS Solution Suite Setup > Service. Screenshot this window so you know what services are installed. The replacement server must have the same services installed or the backup configuration will not load.
   
   
6. Perform a backup: ISS | Backup & Restore
7. Email support@idisamericas.com and provide the serial number from Step 4. It will need to be deactivated before it can be reused. This can take XX hours.
8. Once you receive confirmation it has been deactivated, shutdown or disconnect the network cable from the old server.
9. If you received a replacement system from IDIS, it will be installed in demo mode. The username is admin. The password is 12345678. You will be forced to change it immediately.
   • If the displayed services do not match your screenshot from Step 5, you will need to uninstall IDIS Solution Suite from the control panel and re install it to match the services from the original system.
10. Restore the license using either Online or Offline Activation.
