This guide walks you through retrieving your recorder’s admin password using the Swann Security app. This will only work if the recorder was paired to Swann Security before. Password can be viewed whether the recorder is online or offline (the app retrieves the last saved password).
Important: If you changed the recorder’s password while it was offline, the app will only display the old one.
Prerequisites:
You have the Swann Security app installed and logged in to the same account used when you paired the recorder.
The recorder was successfully paired at least once before; much better if you can still stream its live view.
If your recorder is not listed, you may be logged in to a different Swann Security account; OR
If you only have one account but the recorder is not paired, then you need to do a password reset instead.
Why this helps? The app can only display passwords saved from a previous pairing—there’s no remote password reset.
