Here are the steps:
1. Please make sure DVR or NVR has been connected to the internet successfully. You can judge by the picture below.
If it always keeps disconnected, please follow the below instruction to have a try.

We suggest you use Gmail, not Yahoo or Hotmail.

2. Please enable alarm and email alerts function.

3.Please open the google and log in your google account.
Then click settings>your google's account icon>manage your google account:

4.Click security and login>two-step verification>enable two-step verification:


5.Please search 'app password' first.
If you didn't set it up before, please click the 'create and manage application-specific password' on 'help':
(Sorry, this 'help' part only displays in Chinese and but can't be set up in English.)

6.Name the device name and you will gain the 16-digit app password:


7. Please set up an email in the DVR setting like the picture below. If the mail test succeeds, it is working.
The SMTP server is smtp.gmail.com
The Port is 465/587
Tick the SSL
The user name is your Gmail account
The password is your App password (16 digits) from Google
The sender is your Gmail account
The receiver can be any email.

If the mail testing succeeds, you will receive the email notification for the motion detection from the cameras.
