LPR camera installation

In the following manual and diagram you can see the manufacturer's recommendation for a correct installation of the LPR cameras

Uniview LPR camera configuration

To configure the detection rule, select the draw detection rule, which will be the place where you want to detect.

This section is to be able to enter the license plates that will be authorized to pass in white list, or with warning character for any reason in black list.

  • Identified Vehicle - Vehicles identified as being on Allowlist or Blocklist. You can set 3 modes:
  1. Let Through All - All vehicles can pass
  2. Let Through Allowlist Vehicle - Only vehicles on the white Allowlist can pass
  3. Let Through Non-Blocklist Vehicle - Only vehicles on the Blocklist blacklist can pass
  • Unidentified Vehicle - Vehicles not identified in either Allowlist or Blocklist.
  1. Let Through - Vehicles not on any list may pass
  2. Not Let Through - No vehicle not on any list may pass

In this section the light exposures are adjusted to make an ideal setting for license plate reading at night, depending on the scene we have, a value between 1/500 to 1/1000 can be set as a standard value, however this value will be determined by the own scenario that is in the installation, it will have to be adjusted well at night.

To configure the detection setting, it will be done in the Live View section, where there is a red box that will determine the size of the license plate, and that will always be positioned in the center of the image.

To adjust the red box, the car must be placed within the blue detection zone, so that this box will be positioned on the license plate. In case the frame is larger or smaller than the license plate size, you will have to use zoom+ or zoom- to adjust it to the license plate, therefore, the camera view should be according to the license plate size

To set the direction of travel of the vehicle, for the models that integrate it PKC rangethe direction of travel of the vehicle, forward or reverse (by default in both), is configured in the Live View-Advanced section

LPR camera metadata

Uniview LPR cameras allow the recovery of metadata of the recognized cars, to do so, the following options must be enabled in the camera:

If the camera has an SD card, the license plate readings can be viewed and downloaded from the Photo section:

These files are image captures of the detections and this is what will be downloaded

ADDING THE LPR CAMERA TO AN NVR

If a CSV or Excel download is required, as well as the information collected by the camera from the metadata enabled above, the addition of the LPR camera to a Uniview NVR will be required.

Compatible Uniview recorders for license plate search are as follows:

Once you have recognized the car and retrieved the metadata, these can be searched from an NVR:

The download of these license plates can be by image or Excel:

With the recorder, you can also make configurations on the LPR cameras that you have added, you can manage up to 5 lists:

In point number 4 you can see where up to five different lists are created if desired.

You can configure what action you want to program with which list, if you want to open barrier by the relay itself, only notify by email...

You can also activate or deactivate the actions of the selected list to execute or stop executing the actions of that list.

EZSTATION

From the EzStation PC software, if you add the NVR, you can open the LPR section:

You can open the camera live and see the detections performed:

And, in the next section, do search for previous license plates and perform the download in image and Excel format:
