Why a Thumb Drive is not being recognized by a Speco Recorder?

Here is a quick article that explains which thumb drives are available for use on Speco Recorders. 


  • Speco Recorders only recognize FAT32 formatted drives for playback exports as well as firmware upgrades

  • Not ALL thumb drives support FAT32 format
    • Thumbs drives 32GB and less usually support FAT32
    • Thumbs drives 64GB and up usually support ExFAT

  • Make sure your drive is 32GB or less and formatted in FAT32 for recorder operations
