Akuvox outdoor stations and standalone access controllers have a Wiegand connection to allow use with third-party equipment. To configure it, follow these steps:
1) Access the web configuration component of the device using its IP address and log in.
2) Go to the Intercom --> Wiegand tab for outdoor stations, or the Device --> Wiegand tab for access controllers.
3) Using Wiegand Card Reader Mode, you can set the Wiegand mode that the device will use. The available Wiegand modes are: Wiegand-26, Wiegand-34, and Wiegand-58.
4) Through Wiegand Transfer Mode, you can set how the device will behave: if you choose Input, an external reader can be connected to the outdoor station, while if you choose Output, the station acts as an external reader for another device. There is also a Convert To Card No. Output option for biometric terminals, allowing facial or fingerprint data to be converted into card numbers to be sent via this protocol.
5) To allow devices with a numeric keypad to also transmit numeric codes using this method, you must set Convert To Wiegand Output --> PIN to the value All at once.
