1. Choosing Your Application Scenario

Before configuring the analytics, you must determine how the camera will be used. The V2 firmware optimizes processing based on two primary scenarios:

Scenario: Plate Detection (Traffic Flow)

Best for monitoring public roads or parking aisles where the primary goal is data collection and traffic analysis.

Detection Configuration

  • Detection Settings: Enable storage settings to ensure metadata is saved.

  • Recognition Modes: Choose based on vehicle flow:

  • All: Captures everything.

  • Approaching: Triggers only when the vehicle moves toward the lens.

  • Driving Away: Triggers as the vehicle departs.

  • Area Tuning: Define your Detection Area (where the OCR engine looks) and Block Areas (to ignore static plates on parked cars or signs).

  • Target Size Filter: Set the minimum/maximum plate size to prevent false triggers from small objects or distant noise.

Comparison Settings

  • Tolerant Digits: To account for dirty plates or extreme weather, you can set a tolerance level (e.g., allowing 1 "fault character"). This ensures the gate still opens if a 'B' is read as an '8'.

  • Alarm Trigger Mode:

    1. License Plate: Standard trigger.

    2. License Plate & Parking Card (Wiegand): Dual-authentication mode requiring both a plate match and a physical credential.

Linkage Settings

Define what happens when a match is found in your lists (Allowlist/Blocklist):

  • Alarm Out: Triggers the internal relay to open a barrier.

  • Wiegand Output: Sends the plate data to an external third-party access controller.

Vehicle Database Management

The Safire Smart V2 supports onboard database management without the need for an external NVR/Server.

  • Manual Entry: Best for adding single visitors or staff.

  • Bulk Entry: Import CSV files for large residential or corporate databases.

OSD Settings

Customize what info appears on the screen (e.g., Plate Number, Timestamp, or List Category)

Scenario Entrance & Exit (Access Control)

Designed for gates and barriers. This scenario focuses on matching plates against a database to trigger physical hardware.

  • Manual Entry: Best for adding single visitors or staff.

  • Bulk Entry: Import CSV files for large residential or corporate databases.

Advanced Access Control Configuration

The LPR V2 allows for granular control over how the camera interacts with physical barriers.

Relay & Barrier Gate Logic

  • Manual Relay Testing: You can manually test the barrier connection by selecting Open the gate, Close the gate, or Pause from the relay function menu.

  • Vehicle-Based Rules: You can define specific actions for different vehicle categories:

    • Unknown Vehicle: Decide if the gate stays closed or opens for unrecognized plates.

    • Allow List: Typically set to "Open the gate" for automated entry.

    • Block List: Set to "No Operation" to ensure restricted vehicles cannot enter.

    • Temporary Vehicle: Custom rules for visitors or short-term access.

OSD Settings

Customize what info appears on the screen (e.g., Plate Number, Timestamp, or List Category)

Real-Time Monitoring

This mode provides a dedicated dashboard. From here, operators can:

  • Manually trigger the Gate Open/Close command.

  • Take instant snapshots.

  • Quickly jump into advanced LPR configurations.

Data Retrieval and Export

Search Limits: To maintain performance, the system displays a maximum of 500 pictures per search query.

Export Options:

  • File Only: A CSV/Excel log of plate numbers and times.

  • Image and File: Includes the cropped plate snapshot and the full-frame vehicle image.
