Why the Safire Smart NVR 6000-B2 series?

The Safire Smart NVR 6000-B2 series is the mid-range of Safire Smart Network Video Recorders, and does not cost much more than the entry-level 3000-B1.

 

What is the difference between the 8000-B2 and the 6000-B2 series NVR?

The 8000-B2 has alarm contacts and the 6000-B2 NVR can handle up to 8 megapixel cameras

 

What do you need to know about the 6000-B2 series NVR?

The 6000-B2 series NVR are available from 4 to 16 channels for IP cameras with or without PoE connections. Furthermore, there is the version with space for 1 or with 2 hard drives.

As we can see from the images, there is an HDMI and a VGA connector on it. These two give the same image, so you can connect two monitors to it without incurring additional costs for a splitter.

Furthermore, we see the audio in and out. In case there is no audio in or microphone on a camera and you still want sound from it. The audio out is heard from the selected camera.

Then there is a USB connector for the backup USB or a mouse and on the front is also a USB connector which you can also use.

 

Hard drive installation

Make sure the device is turned off before installation. (Installation photos are for reference only)

 

  1. Before opening the NVR, make sure none of the cables are still connected.
  2. Loosen the screws to open the cover
  3. Place the HDD on the bottom of the NVR
  4. Turn the NVR over and secure the HDD with the screws
  5. Connect the power and data cables
  6. Replace the cover and secure it with the screws

 Tip: Check the inside of the NVR and make sure the cables are properly connected before replacing the cover.
